Erica Handon Ph.D, NCC, LPC

Hello,

As a therapist, I wanted to begin to share effective therapeutic strategies with others that could benefit from the information. Currently, I have written children’s books and one adult\teen coloring book. These books are written with therapeutic themes to help reader overcome fears and express emotions.

In 2005, I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. I received a Masters of Arts degree in Agency Counseling, from North Carolina Central University in May 2010. I have been a licensed counselor since December 6th, 2013. I received my doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision (CES) from Walden University.

I have experience working with individuals and families with a variety of concerns including, but not limited to; crisis counseling, abuse, grief, depression, stress, anxiety, substance abuse, and various mental health conditions. I also have experience providing diagnostic assessments to individuals needing mental health intervention, and counseling survivors of sexual assault, family violence.   As a writer, I have written several scholarly articles and been the editor for an internationally distributed newsletter.
